  • Eliot is able to identify a weapon from the gunshot sound: It has a distinctive sound. Parker is impressed.
    • Eliot: "5.56 NATO rounds, mixed in with some 9mils from the submachine guns. Insurgents would have used an AK-47 with 7.62 ammo -- it has more of a crack. The contractors shot 'em up all right."
      Parker: "You ID'ed the weapon from the gunshot sound?"
      Eliot: "It has a very distinctive sound."
  • Eliot is able to identify former Marine Force Recon from their knife fighting style: It is a very distinctive style. Alec Hardison is perplexed.
    • Eliot: "[…] That tall one? The way he used a knife? Ex-marine. Probably force recon."
      Hardison: "You ID'ed a guy off his knife-fighting style?"
      Eliot: "It's a very distinctive style."

Season 2Edit

• "The Top Hat Job"
  • Eliot is able to identify former CIA from the way they stand: It is a distinctive stance. Hardison is dubious.
    • Eliot: "They're MRI'ing my pizza and their stance says ex-CIA."
      Hardison: "You can tell somebody worked for the CIA just from how they stand?"
      Eliot: "It's a very distinctive stance."

• "The Rashomon Job"
  • Eliot is able to identify the smell of peppermint: It has a very distinctive smell. Hardison is dumbfounded.
    • Eliot: "Do you smell peppermint? I smell peppermint."
      Hardison [as Minister Bioko]: "Are you sure?"
      Eliot: "Yeah. It's a very distinctive smell."
• "The King George Job"
  • Eliot is able to identify former British Paratroopers from their haircuts: They have a very distinctive haircut. Nathan Ford is curious.
    • Eliot: "You want me to stall them? They're former British paratroopers."
      Nate: "How do you…?"
      Eliot: "Haircut, alright? It's a very distinctive haircut."

• "The Long Way Down Job"
  • Eliot is able to identify the fact that there is a member of Russian special forces (Spetsnaz) after him and Parker. Its a very distinctive footprint. Parker wonders if he's serious.
    • Eliot: "I got a footprint, Russian, Spetsnaz."
      Parker: "Seriously?"
      Eliot: "It's a very distinctive footprint.
